The Garden
Olive Tree Villa is built on a plot approx 12m x 29m (approx 350 sqm) which contains the villa and the substantial private swimming pool.
The pool is 8m long by 4.5m wide tapering to 3.2m and 1.4m deep. It is illuminated at night with lights which are on a timer.
The garden is planted with a range of plants including bamboo, oleander,
bougainvillea and plumbago.
A lovely old olive tree provides a central attraction and provides shade over the pool in the late afternoon,
very useful in mid summer. A pergola covered in vines and screened by bamboo provides a shady oasis away from the villa with
further views across the valley.
In the corner of the garden is a small and attractive lockable concrete storage hut for storing sun loungers and pool toys. This could double as a play house for children.
Management
We have an excellent local management agent Ineke (Dutch Lady) & Ayhan (Turkish Man) who can advise you on the area & help with information.
The Setting
The setting is breathtaking, looking across rolling countryside of the Xanthos valley to the mountains beyond.
The villa is located in a small terraced development which is quiet but friendly
and sociable. We have had great fun during our holidays there. Beside and behind the development are pine forests and mountain views. There is plenty of parking.
Nearby
Nearby
the nearest village is Kadikoy, a five minute drive away, where there are a range of shops.
Local produce and basic provisions can be found here; the shopkeepers are friendly and eager to meet the demands of tourists and will deliver provisions to your villa by arrangement. There is a weekly local market. The freshly baked bread and fresh fruit are our favourites.
Just outside this village are a range of simple local restaurants. You can eat out in these for typically £6-£8 per head (2009 prices). By the roadside you can also buy fresh fruit at amazingly low prices. Whilst tourists are
very welcome and the locals very friendly, the area is unspoilt by development and the economy is based on agriculture so there is always the chance of meeting a flock of goats on the road !
If you want noisy all-night bars or English breakfasts this is not the place to
come to.
Within 20 minutes drive is the town of Kemer, which is starting to cater for those who have property in the area and has a range of restaurants, shops and a bank with cash machine.
As the villa is in the foothills of a range of mountains they are well placed for walkers and birdwatchers. The Lycian way, starting at OluDeniz, passes nearby. The nearby Roman settlement at Tlos can be seen from the villas and there are also impressive Roman remains at Xanthos and Patara. Turkey is steeped in history and there is always something else to see.
To the west are the pretty harbour town of Fethiye, the resort beach of Calis and the famous beach and lagoon at OluDeniz.
Near OluDeniz is the bar and clubbing hotspot at Hisaronu. In the old town in Fethiye there is a colourful and vibrant shopping area and a wide choice of restaurants. There are also large modern supermarkets and lots of specialist shops. The extensive weekly market is every Tuesday. All these are
approx 40mins drive away from the Viila.
To the south is one of the best beaches in the world - Patara and the seaside town of Kalkan
which also has a good choice of shops & restaurants & this is where you will find the 5* dive center. A little further on from Kalkan is the stunning beach of Kapatus, this is well worth the trip.

Access
Downstairs the villa has doors to a main veranda which is enclosed by railings which have gated access to the pool. This area provide a safe enclosed place for small children to play outside.
Emergency lights, smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and pool safety signs are provided.
The Villa is accessible by car and there is plenty of parking on the site.
However access to the villa garden is via a few steps which unfortunately makes it unsuitable for those in wheelchairs
